Our experienced doctors can treat minor cosmetic issues quickly with cosmetic bonding. The results are beautiful, natural looking teeth that can last years! Some of the issues we treat with cosmetic bonding are:
- The appearance of uneven teeth: cosmetic bonding can be used to lengthen teeth that appear shorter than neighboring teeth, help smooth out uneven shaped edges in just one quick, painless visit.
- Gaps between teeth: quickly closes the gap between two teeth in just one visit.
- Chipped or cracked teeth: cosmetic bonding is often a great option to correct tooth damage that may not need a full porcelain veneer or full porcelain crown.
- Discolored tooth structure: odd stains on a single tooth to avoid a full tooth whitening procedure.
Cosmetic Bonding Before & After
This patient had three chipped and uneven teeth in the front of her beautiful smile. Dr. Gritsiv corrected these three teeth in one simple visit with cosmetic bonding.
Cosmetic Bonding What to Expect
First, we remove any decay and clean the tooth. Then we apply the resin material in thin layers. Carefully building on each layer to add strength to your tooth. We then use a UV light to cure your tooth before we begin sculpting the shape. We like to describe the process as “painting” your tooth. Luckily, Dr. G is a natural artist and great a “painting.” The final step is polishing the tooth. You will be able to eat and drink almost immediately after your appointment.
Cosmetic Bonding FAQS
Composite bonding is a conservative treatment and usually completed in less than one hour. However, the length of your appointment will be determined by how many teeth you wish to treat.
We can start and finish the cosmetic bonding procedure in a single visit.
Dental composites are very durable and with proper care can and do last for many years. Dr. Gritsiv has completed cosmetic bonding that has lasted 10 years and counting! However, cosmetic bonding is not as long lasting as porcelain crowns or porcelain veneers.
Cosmetic bonding is a quick, conservative procedure we often utilize to improve the appearance of your smile. During this procedure, the dentist will attach or “bond” at resin material to your tooth to enhance the color and/or shape. This resin material is fused together with the natural tooth enamel, preserving the tooth’s natural structure, which will create a strong structure that will look and feel like a natural tooth.
